Tracey Keene – Lover of strong black coffee, family, travel, and creatures both big and small.
Tracey Keene has had the privilege of managing the Prospect Centre since it’s inception in 2008. She enjoys teaching students, creating customized learning plans, and mentoring practitioners, seeing them flourish.
Tracey first entered into OG training in 1989 after witnessing the positive results of OG in a family member.
She has been trained and certified in Orton Gillingham Language as well as Multisensory (Orton Gillingham) Math. Tracey is fortunate to have been mentored throughout the years by many of the early pioneers of OG. Through regularly attending conferences and trainings she is able to keep current on OG advancements and the latest brain and development research throughout North America as well as globally. As a parent and aunt to several children with dyslexia, Tracey understands the struggles that students and families experience firsthand.
Along the way Tracey has had the good fortune to study and work in the field of social work, early childhood development and literacy, expressive arts therapy, equine assisted therapy, and is a registered Doula and facilitator of the Parent Project parenting classes. She has enjoyed working and volunteering in Indigenous health and wellness programs in both British Columbia and the Hawaiian Islands and is humbled by the knowledge shared with her.
Tracey has also spent several decades teaching riding lessons to children and adults as a hobby. As a volunteer, Tracey has devoted time to improving literacy and language skills in newcomers to Canada through a local immigration program, and volunteers with animal rescue organizations working with dogs, cats, horses, and wildlife.
